Carolling in the Cave

SEE SANTA RAPPEL! At the end of the musical portion of the concert, Santa will rappel a daring 165 feet down to the bottom of Moaning Cavern's massive main chamber to distribute gifts to our guests! Bring a can of food or other non-perishable food item to donate to the Calaveras Food Bank and receive $2 off your ticket price.
	CAROLLING IN THE CAVE Summerville High School students from the Jazz@8 Choir lead a carol singing in the cave. Songs are traditional Christmas Carols, and some audience participation will be invited. Towards the end of the program, Santa makes a visit by rappelling 100 feet down to the bottom of the massive main chamber. 	PREPARATION Moaning Cavern is a natural, marble underground environment with a comfortable temperature of 61°F. To attend concert, dress in jeans, t-shirt or sweatshirt and tennis shoes. Bring a pillow to sit on (floor is cold and hard). Please bear in mind that, as a living cave, Moaning Cavern does drip water occasionally. We call these droplets "cave kisses." In wetter weather the water droplets increase, and you may choose to bring a lightweight waterproof jacket with a hood to keep you completely dry.
